-Nearby Trees: Bur Oak, Chinkapin Oak, Shagbark Hickory, Black Oak, and distant Northern Red Oak.

-Areas of fresh growth white. -Flesh slightly tough and leathery.

Smell: not distinctive. Taste: not distinctive.
