Description

Densocarpa shanorii is a mycorrhizal truffle that can be found in Oak/Hickory forests in the fall.

  • Growing partially submerged in soil, under leaf duff, in low mixed oak/hickory woodland draw, under Pawpaw thicket.

  • Smell: sulfuric (rotten eggs).

  • Microscopy: Mounted in Congo Red.
